Lisa’s new Japanese friend, Mitoko Suzuki, invited Lisa to her house for dinner.

  This will be Lisa’s first time to visit a Japanese family. Lisa’s mother gives her some useful tips.

   “It’s polite to give them a gift. Did you buy a gift for the Suzuki family?” Lisa’s mother asked.

   “Yes, I did,” said Lisa.

   “Good! Give it to them with both hands,” said Lisa’s mom.“You should also take off your shoes at the door.

Many people in Asia don’t wear shoes in the house. Bow to show your respect when you arrive and leave.

You can learn some easy Japanese greetings, too.

If we learn about the customs of other countries, we will understand them much better,” said Lisa’s mom.

    丽莎的新日本朋友铃木水户子邀请丽莎去她家吃晚饭。这是丽莎第一次 去日本人家里做客。

丽莎的妈妈给了她一些有用的建议。

 “是的， 我买了，”丽莎说。
