There’s an Engl ish  speech contest at Lisa’s
school this Friday. Many people in Lisa’s class like
English. They all study hard and speak well. Lisa
wants to speak better, so she practices a lot. Lisa’s
teacher asked Lisa to speak  at the speech contest

because Lisa always studies so hard.
Lisa is excited about the contest, but she’s also very
nervous because she’s afraid of making a mistake. Many people
gave Lisa advice.
“Go to school early so you can prepare,” Lisa’s mother
said.
“Speak carefully so everyone can hear easily,” said Lisa’s
teacher.
However, the best advice was from Lisa’s brother.
“Don’t worry about making mistakes. Everyone makes
mistakes sometimes,” he said. “Try hard and do your best.”

       演讲比赛
这个星期五丽莎的学校有一场英语演讲比赛。丽莎班上的很多同学都喜
欢英语。他们学习非常刻苦，英语也说得很好。丽莎想说得更好些，所以她
做了很多练习。丽莎的老师让丽莎参加演讲比赛，因为丽莎总是学习很努
力。
丽莎对演讲比赛感到很兴奋，但她也非常紧张，因为她怕出错。许多人
都给她提了建议。
“早一点去学校，你可以预先准备，”丽莎的妈妈说。
“慢点讲，这样每个人都能听清楚，”丽莎的老师说。
然而，最好的建议是丽莎的哥哥给她的。
“不要担心出错，每个人都会犯错。”他说，“只要努力，尽力去做就
可以了。”
