Mother’s Day is on the second Sunday in May. On this day,
people in the USA and many other countries try to do something
special to show their love for their mothers.
   Many American children surprise their mothers with
breakfast in bed. They also do all the housework so their
mothers can relax. Some children give their mothers cards,
gifts, or flowers on this day. They may also take their mothers
out to their favorite restaurant for dinner. Many people also wear
red or white carnations, a kind of flower, to show their love for
their mothers. Mother’s Day is a good day to say “Mom, I love
you.”

   五月的第二个星期日是母亲节。在这一天，美国和许多其他国家的人都
做一些特别的事来表达对母亲的爱意。
   许多美国孩子会给他们的妈妈一个惊喜，为妈妈早起准备早餐。他们还
会做各种家务，这样妈妈就可以休息一天了。一些孩子会在这一天送他们的妈
妈卡片、礼物和鲜花。他们还会带妈妈去她最喜欢的餐厅共进晚餐。许多人会
佩戴红色或白色的康乃馨，以此来表示对妈妈的爱。母亲节这天我们应该对妈
妈说：“妈妈，我爱你。”
